Idk if I agree with the "emotions vs physicality dichotomy" though like I guess the class-S genre origin stuff is all about Deep Special Friendship Feelings sure but there is a component of physical desire to most yuri out there, and yuri about friends with benefits to lovers is a significant part of the landscape that's often overlooked
